This Year's Poster Child
The face of Tag Days 2021...
ronnie, Age 5
Ronnie was born on March 23rd, 2016, nearly 6 weeks early due to posterior urethral valves. Though he wasn’t expected to live long, he was so strong and 5 weeks later was able to go home with his family. About a month later, Ronnie came back to the hospital, this time Mott, where he spent 7 months both in the PICU and on 12 West. During this time he had multiple surgeries and started dialysis.
Despite the difficulties, Ronnie and his family feel like Mott has become their home away from home. At couple years ago Ronnie was able to get a new kidney and though he is currently in rejection, it is mostly medically controlled. He continues to rock his mickey ears and overalls with the biggest smile.
Ronnie has had a complicated medical journey but is such a fighter and has wonderful support from his family, both at home and at Mott! We are so excited that he is our TAG DAYS 2021 Poster Child and we hope you will join us in supporting children in Mott and throughout Washtenaw County!
